Thinking Out Loud

As some of you know I have been reading in the Old Testament of the Bible lately. One of the things I ran across that really bother me was human sacrifices to false gods. It seems that the value of human life wasn’t very high in those days. As I lay in bed this morning talking with God and thinking about scriptures a thought pass through my mind about abortions.  “What is the difference between people sacrificing babies and abortions?” Clearly human sacrifices are wrong even associated with evil. Most humankind would be outrage if human sacrifice was mention on the news. What about abortions? Isn’t it the same, a killing of a human life? Some would say that a fetus growing in a womb isn’t considered a human begin. What then constitute being human; a heartbeat, a brain, a body, a breath? What about a soul?

The Heavenly Father gives life to us. He gives us a soul.

Genesis 2:7 “Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

Back to human sacrifices to false gods. I thought about how false gods came to be. The only logically reasoning I can come with is deception of Satan because in the beginning there was only one God, the one who created us, God of Adam and Eve. Satan is deceiving mankind over and over again. Even in the beginning of humankind Satan has made us think evil things are okay. Now days Satan’s deception doesn’t seems so clear cut especially when we think of an unborn child as not being human.  In reality abortion is the same as human sacrifice.

In other words we sacrifice unborn children to “the god of convenience.”
