I’m one of those people who like organization and tidiness but I also like seeing and making changes to better something, or you could say improvements. Recently my church has started construction of new bathrooms. I love the thought of new changes in my church. It means we are growing. The thought of the end results excites me. Oh, there is a downside. Unlike most people, I’m in my church throughout the week, so I’m seeing and hearing the construction going on in the church. I’m seeing the dust flying around, things being ripped off walls, part of floors are being ripped up, things being moved, etc… I think you get the idea. It’s very untidy.
I have a choice to make. I can stay home and study which doesn’t work for me. I can go in and complain about the construction and all the mess, or I can get excited about the changes I’m seeing each day and think about the end results.
Here the thing, just like my church in the process of construction where everything is messy and changes are being made, our hearts go into construction when we get saved. Things get messy as God states to rip things out, move things around, changes attitudes, and sin goes flying out of our hearts. We have choices on how we handle it. We can turn away and ignore God. We can complain about being a Christian, or we can embrace what God doing to us and get excited about the end results.
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End—.
Should not we think of the end? and the beauty of Jesus coming and living in eternity with Him!
