Sinner’s Race

Sinner’s Race

It’s just you and me running this sinner’s race
Look in the mirror and see this face
We need to slow down this pace
Brokenness in this place

Open up, the heaven’s gates
Pouring down a sinner’s fate
Grace stepped in
to take a sinner’s place

Nail to a tree
Taking the stripes for me
Heaven’s gates open for us to see
Grace poured out for all of thee

Look in the mirror at this face
Christ seen in its place
We are free from this sinner’s race
Brokenness, took its place

Hebrews 12:1-3, Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
